This series of shelters are an invitation to contemplate what makes a sanctuary. When humans feel at their most vulnerable, they often shield and seek refuge. The giant droplet contains 64 litres of water. This is the average volume of tears a person sheds in their lifetime. Although the orb of tears is protected, the layer between it and the elements is discrete and subtle. This leaves it susceptible to possible destruction. On the eve of the opening, an unseasonable thunderstorm hit Wales, and the shelters were destroyed.
